A very worn Pseudocatharylla duplicella
A good record (I have 14 records of this species held on my database); please could you submit the record data (by P.M. if you want to maintain confidentiality, please)
This worn an example is difficult to separate from the much scarcer Calamotropha sp. nr. melanosticta, (also Crambidae, Crambinae) which is slightly larger (though can't tell that from this photo!) and lacks the dark smudge on the dorsal edge of the forewing beneath the medial spot - there are just enough scales left to distinguish this character and make a confident identification.
