For Euphrobiaceae, there is a pair of glands at the base of the leaf (this is a characteristics of this family).
Bridelia tomentosa: shrub to small tree, twigs with soft dense hairs; alternate leaves, papery, elliptic to obovate, lower leaf surface covered with short hairs, base obtuse, apex acute to shortly acuminate, entire margin, venation slightly prominent. Inflorescences small, sessile green flowers. Tomemtose means hair/hairy, but this species can be glabrous to tomentose.
Bridelia insulana: tree, butressed, alternate leaves, have a distinct strong almond odour when crushed,base obtuse, rounded to acute, margin entire, apex obtuse to shortly acuminate, upper surface glabrous, dark green, lower surface glabrous, prominent venation beneath. Inflorescences sessile to shortly stalked flowers.
